Which is the most revolutionary invention of the world? It must be a wheel. Cycle, which runs on two wheels, is the only vehicle which brings all human beings together. Cycle brings equal pleasure to all right from milkman, dabbawala to Prime Minister of the nation.
It felt necessary to provide common platform to all cycle lovers to express their views. So Cycle Summit was initiated for the same for the first time at Dombivli on 28th January 2018. Lake city Thane always welcome new & innovative ideas. So during first cycle summit held at Dombivli itself, Thaneites insisted to organise 2nd Cycle Summit at Thane. Thus the 2nd Cycle Summit is organised at Dr Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium Thane on 3rd February 2019. This is the first full day Summit to be held with Cycle as the main theme.
Cycle rally of approx 1200 cyclists will start from Shivaji Maidan, Thane by 7 am. Members of various cycle clubs, college students, various citizens including prominent leader of city Shri Sanjay Kelkar will participate in the rally. Right from World famous Mumbai's dabbawala, to postman -who is a friend to each house of the city, will be part of the rally. Nevertheless the police who protects us in the city & Airforce personnel who protects at border will also participate in the rally. The rally will conclude at Dr Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium. The cycle rally is free for participants. Thane Municipal Corporation will provide free T Shirts, cap & snacks to the participants.
Recycle Club, Swatv & iCAN has taken initiative for the Cycle Summit. Sports Ministry (Maharashtra state), Office of Police Commissioner Thane & Thane Municipal Corporation has extended the valuable co-opearation for the Summit. Various cycle clubs not only from Mumbai, Thane & Dombivli & other regions from Maharashtra but also from regions outside Maharashtra like Surat & Ankleshwar will participate in the cycle rally.
Apart from cycle clubs, many other organizations as Futardo's school of Music, FOCI, Rotary Club of Thane Suburban, Innerwheel club of Thane Garden City, Sanskar Bharati & Fortis Hospital have also contributed for the Cycle Summit.
Police Band is organised at Dr Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium at 8 am. Thereafter Futadro's School of Music Mumbai will entertain the audience till 8.30 am. The registration process will also be completed simultaneously till 8.30 am.
Mr Vinod Tawade (Guest of Honor), ,Mr Eknath Shinde (Chief Guest), Mrs Minakshi Shinde, Mr. Sanjiv Jaiswal, Mr. Vivek Phansalkar Sir, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar (Chief Guest), Mr. Naresh Mhaske (Swagatadhyaksh), Mr Deepak Mejari (Sammelanadhyaksh) will add the value to the Summit. Shri Sanjay Kelkar will also participate in the Cycle Summit after participating in the Cycle rally.
Among others, Summit also has objective to foster bycycling as a viable means of trsnsport, and as a means to address wealth and health disparities that exists in our communities. The Summit seek to empower individuals to take control of their transportation, health, and sense of community.

2) 9 am to 10 am- Summit Opening ceremony, condolence to Khalekaka and felicitation to Mr. Vikram Pendse (Cycle Gaurav), youngest Ironman of Asia Ravija Singhal, presentation on infrastructure & cycling by mulundki cyclewali & cycle2work idol Firoza Suresh.
