It was beautiful morning today when Shwinn started for c2w (#cycle to work) ride. The atmosphere was pleasant. C2w is daily affair for Shwinn. But she was more delighted as she knew, being last friday of Gregorian month, many of her friends might do c2w today in Mumbai today.
The Sun was slowly moving upward in the sky. The students had reached the school. So there was less rush on the road, when Shwinn started the ride. However the narrow roads doesn't allow to put next gear. Shwinn was calm & steady till it reaches 90 feet road in Thakurli. Once it reaches there, Shwinn put next gear.
90 feet road is parallel to rail line. Its always fun to watch the trains moving slowly but parallel to us. It reminds me my schooldays. My school was just opposite to railway. I was in 4th std when double decker train started. I don't remember how but even without having watch, I always rush to window to see the doubledecker train just before it pass. There might be not even single day in 4th std that teacher had not punished me for the same. But in spite of daily punishments, every next day the same drama had repeated.
But the Shwinn is not aware of such punishments. She enjoys when train passes parallel to her.
'Patri pul' was packed today, so Shwinn had to slow down. Unfortunately, the rear tyre was getting jammed yesterday, as & when I used rear break. So today I had to use only front break to slow down Shwinn. But Shwinn had no fear. We passed patri pul, durgadi fort easily. But it was real test when we started climb on bridge after Durgadi fort. The horsepowered pollution friendly vehicles were moving at the pace of snail. And Shwinn had to get through with only front gear. But since it was daily affair, Shwinn find its way nicely.
But the traffic at Kongaon was just waiting for Shwinn. Still it moved ahead with ease. Then though there was rush, the traffic was moving. Shwinn crossed Govegaon, Ranjnoli & turned at Ranjnoli on Nashik Thane Highway. Thats the road, Shwinn like the most.
Most of the cyclists get bored with heavy traffic. But since its highway, the road is wide & horsepowered pollutionfriendly vehicles moves away from you. Yes, you should be alert all the time. But Shwinn enjoys the ride on this highway.
The climb ahead of Pimplas always tests your skill. But you gets recharged when the rocks on both sides of road after climb welcomes you. If you ve spare time, you can relax there enjoying the nature. What I enjoy riding Shwinn is it gives me oportunity to connect myself & also with the nature.
Shwinn crossed the Sai mandir at Dapode & speed up towards Mankoli. It was not easy to slow down with front break but Shwinn did it nicely. It was steady ride then till Kharegaon bridge....
Shwinn had to slow down there again as we heard a break on other side of divider. Oh! A two wheeler was moving ahead parallel to road without driver. The biker was already on the street on his right shoulder well behind the vehicle. Luckily he had wore the helmet, so survived. It reminds me the #kalyan cyclists slogan 'no helmet no ride'.
Shwinn moved ahead & crossed Majiwada & turned to left. Shwinn took flyover opposite Korum mall & rushed to Tin hath naka. This signal is too long as vehicles from 6 directions meets here. But Shwinn takes advantage of three roads while turning towards Mulund checknaka. Today Shwinn finds first signal itself & it moved to Mulund checknaka & completed its cycle2work ride.
